Golf Equipment

This article describes the basic golf equipment needed to play golf on an average round. It is intended to assist novice golfers by educating them on proper golf equipment so that they can enter a round of golf with confidence knowing that they are properly equipped to play the game. Let’s start with the more obvious golf equipment.

Golf Club

You won’t play much golf without a set of golf clubs. Beginner golfers should start with a set of golf clubs for beginners or beginner golf clubs. This golf club set includes one driver and fairway wood, 7 to 9 iron, pitching wedge, sand wedge and putter. This small set is everything a beginner golfer needs. As your skills develop over time, the need for better golf equipment will also increase.

When it comes to golf clubs for beginners, stay away from game improvement clubs. This is a great technology and is proven to work, but if you don’t learn how to hit a square ball and execute proper golf swing mechanics, you will only become dependent on this technology. Keep it simple and keep it simple when it comes to golf clubs and golf equipment,

Golf ball

This can be tricky for many golfers and how to choose the right golf ball depends in part on experience. There are many different types of golf balls on the market, all of which have their own unique features to enhance the ball’s flight. Don’t get hung up on this, buy the cheapest golf balls and buy in bulk or a dozen. There is no such thing as a golf ball that will help you learn how to swing a golf club properly and until you get it right, you may be missing out on a lot of golf balls. Do yourself a favor, buy in bulk and buy cheap, you will save money in the long run.

Golf Shirt

The same goes for golf tees, buy them cheap and the best way to do it is in bulk.

Golf Shoes

Playing 18 holes of golf is equivalent to walking 5 – 7 miles. Even if you plan to rent a golf cart, you will still need a good pair of golf shoes to provide the proper traction and support needed to hit the ball well. Golf shoes are standard golf equipment on today’s courses and you won’t be taken seriously if you wear a pair of sneakers.

Golf Gloves

You never see a pro play without gloves and there’s a reason for this. It is important to maintain a good grip on the club. Without wearing gloves, you run the risk of losing the club from your hand, which is not only embarrassing, but can also be dangerous. Just try swinging a stick without a stick and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Golf gloves are affordable and necessary. Be sure to be equipped with golf gloves.

Golf Pants

You may think this is a bit of an expense and unnecessary, but the game of golf is a men’s game, so let’s stick with tradition and dress for the occasion. You want to look good on the court and even if you haven’t played like a pro, you will earn the respect and acceptance of your fellow golfers by wearing appropriate clothing. This shows other golfers that you take the game seriously. But the real advantage is in the design. Manufactured specifically for golfers to maximize flexibility and comfort by not holding back the motion required when swinging a golf club

golf shirt

The same can be said for the golf shirt as mentioned above for the trousers, it looks good, loose and comfortable.

You know, let’s talk about less obvious golf equipment that you might not have considered.

Golf Cap or Visor

Golf is an outdoor sport and you will likely be out in the sun for a few hours or more, so protecting yourself from the heat and harmful rays of the sun is a must. Also consider sunscreen. A good idea is to carry some in your golf bag.

Pencil and Scorecard

Carry pencils and scorecards in your golf bag. You are responsible for keeping track of your own score, so be prepared to do so. Most courses provide a scorecard.

Golf Towel

You will need a golf towel to wipe the candy off your hands, clean the surface of the golf club or to dry your ball after washing. Your ball will get dirty or even muddy and will need to be washed. Most courses have simple ball washing machines that you can use and are located in various places around the golf course.

Ball Marker

Something to mark the position of the ball on the green when your ball is on the other golfer’s line to the pin. A dime like a dime or a nickel can be used or you can get a real one. That concludes this article on the basics of golf beginners. You now know what the right golf equipment to bring with you when you enter a round of golf.
